Background of the Study

Social media has become an indispensable tool in modern-day communication, offering a platform for information exchange and engagement. In the context of elections, social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp play a crucial role in voter education. In Jega Local Government Area (LGA) of Kebbi State, social media has been used to inform the electorate about the electoral process, candidates, and issues that are important during election periods. This study aims to explore the impact of social media on voter education in Jega, focusing on how social media influences voters' awareness, decisions, and participation in the electoral process.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

While social media has made a significant contribution to voter education in Nigeria, the impact of these platforms in rural areas like Jega is not well-documented.
